Gun Violence Awareness

June is Gun Violence Awareness Month. As a survivor of gun violence, Rais was invited to The White House to share his testimony and participate in discussions on addressing the root causes and prevention of gun violence, as well as supporting survivors and communities.

Coincidentally, it was also the historic day when Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued a groundbreaking advisory, declaring gun violence a national public health crisis and recommending it be treated accordingly.

Thank you to the Office of Gun Violence Prevention for hosting this timely and much-needed critical conversation.

House Resolution to Honor and Support Victims and Survivors of 9/11 Hate

We’re asking for your help. Please consider urging your member of Congress to sponsor House Resolution 662. Let them know that you support this meaningful effort. This national recognition will truly help in the lifelong healing process of the victims’ families and survivors.

Rais has visited numerous members of Congress’ offices seeking bi-partisan support and we’re proud to share that current co-sponsors include Congressman Andre Carson (IN-7), Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) and Congressman Adriano Espaillat (NY – 13).
